Bones doesn’t bother listening
to what people say about him.

There’s no future for him
in their words.

People can point their fingers at him,
and yell and scream all they want to.

It makes no difference whatsoever
to Bones.

Bones is oblivious
to most everything,
except those things
that might put a little money
in his pocket.

When there’s money involved,
why then
Bones ears will pop-up like
radar antenna,
and scan the surrounding
for the merry clink of coins.

Bobby

I think that's what it's all about

making money and not worrying about what other people say about you

taking care of your own

yeah Bones has it right

Thanks Bill,

For the offer.  I've talked to Bones and he said that he's pretty well tied up shoveling walks here in the hood.

Thanks dear Passing shadows,

You and Bones are on the same wavelength.  You both have the right idea.

That's what keeps the world turning.

Money is not bad in itself, as long as it is used well and shared to improve our own life and the life of others.

That's Bones all right, as long as he is not oblivious to love, that's ok.

Thanks dear Margherita,

Bones always uses his money wisely.  He gets that from being so poor.

Of course Bones is not oblivious to love.

I have to introduse Bones to some nice girl.

Thanks for bringing that up.

Enjoyed this very much. I had to smile and shake my head at this one.  Bones sounds an awful lot like a few people I know...

If I don't say it...who will?

Bones is a gleaner in the fields; that's a skill every survivor has to have, and bones has plenty of it. I especially like the metaphor of the antennae that detects the presence of money---another survival tool. Bones is equipped for life on the streets. I really enjoyed this episode. ---Art

Perhaps the title should have been "Selective Hearing." In this day in age I think that is a skill everybody needs to have. I kind of prefer the Native American view of listening... Listen, and say little... only that which is important should be spoken of... this way there is very little crap to sift through.

Bones doesn’t bother listening
to what people say about him.
Maybe because Bones had a very bad mom or dad who didn't discipline him correctly, Bones is only being his natural self.  this is always said of children who constantly misbehave without their parents caring what happens.  Its classic of American children and their upbringing.
