Th candles were fine, right near my thigh
burning the wax of another night,
her long legs testing the night

The light of my existence,
tapering the fears of every man
that walks with a back too low, a shoulder too narrow,
I search for the reason of my being.

To test the water, so to speak,
to walk with a command of fire
that captures the wake of water
and allows me to walk so lightly
my feet become rays from the sun.

I am sincere in me, sincerest of my apologies
to a world that I can't help,
a world that hasn't seen the best of me,
So I lend my hand
to something that isn't me, isn't my heart
but a chance to recreate
the bridge between two souls.

I can't ride in a truck all by myself,
can't ride the lanes unless my hand
is by another, another person
that can see me unfolding
into more than just a man of selfish pedigree.

Where do I stand,
the soulless wonder and wonder
and tonight, I will not sleep.

I tried to sell my nights, but no sale.

Seems we're literally and figuratively on the same page.

Enjoyed the night ride.
