Depths of Despair

It is my hope,
my wish, my desire
that the woman that I love
is the woman that loves me,
for without her participation
I am like a tree with no water,
a flower lacking the warmth of the sun,
a scuba diver that is running out of air
and must reach the surface before passing out
and falling into the depths of despair.

Yo James,

Sometimes it works as we would want, and sometimes it doesn't.  I'm sure it will work out well for you.

You've described that intense feeling well...I hope a positive comes out of this negative

To be alone in love is so very hard on the ego but I don't think the spirit worries much about that.  It's still love!

I think you see what happens when love is absent very clearly.  We live to learn the art, and loving unconditionally is rare.  Someone once told me when I was whole within my half, then I would be ready to give to someone else.  I don't think I will ever forget it, or stop trying to understand what that means.  Your poem reminded me....

Understood and appreciated, James!

Perhaps almost all the person anguish in the world is caused by the frustration of not being able to see into the future
and consequently make the correct decision.
Which is right? and how does one know for sure?
