there is not a day
that goes by
that i don't think of you
remembering all the good times we shared
and the sorrowful ones you helped
to see me through
i know that you're in heaven because
there is no other place someone
as beautiful as you could be
just to gaze into your soulful eyes
was such a precious thing

sometimes, i feel your spirit
lurking in places we have been
and i am grateful
when i feel you here
as your comforting smile draws near
sometimes when i dream
you are still here with me
so clear it almost seems real
you were so very special to me
it's not so much i am grieving
i am merely missing you
thinking fond thoughts of you for you see
there is a special place in my heart
where our treasured memories will always be

I liked this, I think of my father often, and my sister and I know there around in spirit and in my heart always, very touching poem, thanks for sharing.

Lovely poem, Faith. I feel this way about Flicka, Tigger and Daisy, my horse, cat and dog - and yes, they DO smile, in their own way.

Oh yes, we miss our loved ones, it is indeed so comforting when they come to us in dreams.
