I dreamt I stood on snow-capped peaks
I floated down o'er craggy falls
Passing rose-puffed clouds to reach
Familiar white washed walls

Amidst the hills the cottage dozed
In autumn's bracken turned to gold
I knew these slopes would soon see snows
And in their world new scenes unfold

For I have walked these hills so long
I know their every mood and song
For once they were my dearest friend
Not knowing childhood days would end

Gentle glens against clear autumn skies
Memories of home, how dear you are
The whispering breeze, hours drifting by
Beloved homeland you are calling to me from afar

When city streets replaced the hills I knew
For many years I've lived beyond their ken
Now dreams are calling me, I know it's true
I'll never leave the braes of home again

Lingering long to let the golden peace
Of timeless grace fall on my heart
Embraced in beauty, now I do move on
Renewed by dreamtime memory's wondrous art

I gasped as soon as I saw that splendid scene before my eyes. A bit o' heaven to be sure!

Katriona, your exquisite poetry speaks to my soul ~ via my heart.

Majestic! Magnificent!

Yo dear Heart2Heart,

This is a nice presentation.  Of course I'd have to ask--"here are all the people?"

Dreaming with you Katriona.
You make me think about things long dormant.

Thanks.

This is just beyond beautiful, Heart2Heart.
Your love of your homeland shines through in all you write. I can see why.

Dear Bobby, yes my family and friends are all contained in this poem and all belong in the chambers of my heart together with my lovely homeland.
