Reminder The eighth of February comes With no fanfare every year. I try to disregard the date Despite a falling tear. A black number on the calendar Stamped red upon my heart; The birthday of my first, true love From whom I had to part. Since God took him, the passing time Has helped to dull the pain Until unfailingly each year His birthday comes again. 2/8/08Joyce |
