In Bruges

Now tell me, who wouldn't want
to go to Bruges, a centuries old
Belgium town with castles and canals
and lovely parks with carousels and swans.

Perhaps a man that was running away
from himself, from a catastrophic event
from which there seemed to be no escape...

When you're in Bruges, the state of your
happiness or your sadness seems to be
based on whether or not you're
where you want to be.

Those same thoughts could apply
to any situation or circumstance,
any town or location, and every
relationship you've ever shared.

Now couldn't it?

Interesting and intriguing, dear James. I have been in Bruges, you made me remember the beauty of that town, a little Venice!

Love,
Margherita

Thank you for the nice response Margherita...in the movie it seemed to be like a smaller version of Amsterdam...it showed that its the state of mind, not the beauty of the local, that determines one's like or dislike for a location...a thought provoking movie with a sad ending...James

You made Bruges sound like a very beautiful place, James. Wouldn't mind visiting there.

Now you've made me want to see another movie, James, one I have not heard of. Thank you for this little beauty...

Thank you Marchmadness, Sunshine and Roniece for the wonderful responses...I hope you have a chance to visit Bruges as it looked like a lovely town in the movie of that name, or perhaps view the movie, although you will have to look past the dark comedy that dominates the movie to see the beauty of Bruges...but I enjoyed the movie...
Now I am trying to refresh my memory from some years back when me and some friends drove from Germany to Amsterdam and back, and we definately stopped in Brussels, Belgium on the way...but I will have to look at a map and refresh my memory to remember if we passed through Bruges...James
