PTSD...

Silence roars as a soul struggles
to find a beating heart. As a mind grasps
fitfully into the darkness behind a damp
lid, quivering in wait, aching to no longer
feel, see or hear that which stalks the light
of day and strums loudly upon the eve of
night. A night when a chill crosses the
land and a soft hand trembles in wait of
the shrill shriek of a merciless demon
aching to add an exclamation point to
each turned stone...

Still the eve waits and the eyes
pierce the darkness in search
of the foe that hides in shadows
of dreams. Will there ever be a
moment, a guarded moment when
silence no longer roars?

Very apt, and oh I do understand all too well...it's lovely to read you again, Mag.

You always write beautifully, and if I can impose my personal take on the message--silence roars most riotous when I am waiting for answers. (Or lonely)

Thanks for sharing lovie.

What an opening!

~ "Silence roars as a soul struggles
to find a beating heart. As a mind grasps

lid, quivering in wait"

Silence roars not as loudly as does your illustrious pen!

Hugs to you, Dear Barry!

Sometimes, that silence roars louder than even thunder, doesn't it?

I found this a most insightful write.  I guess one does know what the roar of silence is saying - we just don't know that we know.  Enjoyed!

BJ, this is a very thoughtful piece.  With all the disasters that have affected people, and now so, so many cases of it being reported among our troops returning from war, this is a timely write, as well.  It's an invisible wound and so hard to heal.   ....jo

I came in to read this morning and was scanning down the page... seeing your title sidetracked me completely... and this is the result. *G* /pip/Forum104/HTML/000801.html

So... my friend, I owe you my thanks.... or apologies, as the case may be. *G*

And now that my bossy muse has gone back to napping... I can give my appreciation for your great poem. *S* And I must say... even if your title hadn't sent my pen into hyperdrive, I would have been drawn to this one... I swear, there are times when silence hurts worse than a beating... and is so loud you can't think of anything else. *S* Excellent write!!!!

ok, I think maybe my muse is like unto that of suthern's for this brings up many thoughts....silent thoughts, but thoughts just the same...and that is great for one whose muse has left silent behind long ago..sigh...

Great write Barry but keep faith, I'm sure

that in the not too distant future the

silence will cease to roar for you, I wish

you luck.  Lindsay
