There was a day scheduled to be lived;
our feet would run against wind, shipping us off
to each untouched sky, as lips tasted new food.
I held your hand before, lightly to caress our souls;
a kiss barely there, spills upon my cheeks, as
salty memories slide from my eyes.

If 30 candles lit the hollow of your stare,
could I follow them back to our comfort?
The faint spirit that clings to me, speaks nonsense
in vivid dreams; and searching never brings me closer.
I asked, you said yes, it was not long before the
switch flipped; your heart became a paperweight
holding your desires with strings.

In puppet fashion, you disappeared.

Oh WOW Page, I so enjoyed this. There is so much wrapped up in this and I love the way you worded it, also especially the ending. Wonderful impact, a most enjoyable read. And so nice to be able to put a face with the words. Nicely done lady...nicely done indeed.
