Work In Progress Sitting here this morning I watch my children grow. Running and playing, the eldest even mows. I try so hard to be both mom and dad. When I let them down it makes me so sad. The heartbreak in their eyes when I can’t be all they need Tears me up inside, God I feel so empty. But oh when their eyes sparkle with a smile from within, Nothing in the world will compare to that again. I try so hard to be there even when others say too much They didn’t come with instructions, I’m living on a hunch. My arms feel so empty when they aren’t here Screwing this up is my greatest fear. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, how could I have known Could it ever really be enough? Raising them alone? Have you ever seen the brightest sunrise? Only if you’ve seen the smile in my daughter’s eyes. My boys are rough and tough, romping as they play. Growing bigger and stronger each and every day. They try to protect me, they think it’s their right If they think someone’s hurt me, they’re all ready to fight. I try to remind them that protecting is for me Just once, try to tell that to a pre-teen! There’s no greater gift for which I could’ve been blessed, I pray I do it right, this work I have in progress. 6/9/2007 |

just being honest with yourself and humbly gauging the situation as you have done puts you at the advantage that most do not have...knowing what it takes and progressing towards those ends, will benefit the family greatly when it is all said and done. |

Passingshadow & Marcel, I have my days when I am confident I'm doing it right and as my kids grow those days do become more frequent. Thanks Nysa |
