red blood courses through blue veins
the steady rhythm beats in my chest
are our hearts not too the same?
similar in certain aspects
but lacking in one alone
the love king in my heart
sits crippled in his throne
going over graphs and charts
unable to comprehend
what everyone else seems
to share to no end
a hopeless tear gleams
wherein lies the rub?
pain and rage too familiar
but the obscurity of love
slips from my gnarled fingers

I liked it very much, and yes dark, but very very familiar to most of us I think. Don't know what else to add, your story tells it all.
