     Autumn’s Lament

Autumn’s remarkable, last
  clear song
of ‘time and change’ lament,
pierces the magnificent gloom
of even the deepest forest,
where her final beauty is
  fated to fade,
with the cold, primeval dawn
of whirl-wind snowflake
  dancers,
that herald Winter’s silent
  spirit passing,
in the stillness of white
  perfection…
and the balm of
  solemn serenity.

This word-paint is a watercolor, not an oil painting, even more demanding since once the color is applied, it can't be painted over to correct for balance, hue, texture. Painted with colors true and clear, it captures the essence of transition through a strong, inspired hand.

Especially enjoyed: well, ALL of it!
