She died twenty years ago
           On a crisp October morn
On her nephew's birthday
           Need I go on
Her voice was like an angel
           Talents beyond compare
I wish I had known her longer
Some times life is just not fair

She died twenty years ago
           Alone I am told
In her hospital room
           Not even noticed
Until her body had grown cold
She was such a beauty
           She did not even know
What prompted her to make this change
           I fear I'll never know
I took her to the hospital
           Just a week before
Saying I'll be back to visit
As I walked her to that door

She was going to be a surrogate parent
           To my new born babe
As we were both looking for our life long mate
           Referring to my daughter
            As our little babe
I miss this woman dearly
She was my very best friend
I look forward to the day
When we fish together in Heaven's pond

She died twenty years ago on a crisp October morn
       My
          Dear
              Friend
                     I
                       Miss
                            You

              Until We Meet Again

"I look forward to the day
When we fish together in Heaven's pond"

Sad, and yet so full of hope.

So sad to have died alone. Your lovely tribute to her hopefully helps  put her to rest.  Sincerely "late"

I know what it means to lose someone close, for I have lost a lot of those...
Death is not the only way to lose someone close, but, for me, it is the most painful one.  I like this poem a lot and I hope that your prayers to meet again would become true.

It is a sad yet wondeful poem, and so optimistic.
Thank you for sharing.

Late arrival I hope I never put her to rest she was a wonderful person, I named my daughter after her. As long as you remember your loved ones they are never really gone. But I understand what you are saying and I thank you for the compliment and visit.
