"Fate"

Can we really change our Fate, or are we doomed to stumble
Along this path ordained for us, despite our hopes and dreams?
I tell you now, that doing so will only make us crumble
And changing’s not as hard as it would seem.

Let no one but yourself decide the paths that you will tread
So rage against the powers forcing you to fit their mold.
For if you don’t, someday you’ll probably end up scarred or dead,
Or at the least, alone in darkness cold.

So forge the path that you would take to reach your hopes and dreams
And let nobody hold you back or say that it can’t be
You’ll see that far ahead of you, a shining beacon gleams
‘Tis destiny, which waits to set you free.
