A fleeting moment forever captured
Time just as elusive as before
Fingers outstretched, hoping, waiting...
Closing my eyes

I come up empty

Wait, what is that noise?
That fluttering that is near
Sudden warmth comes pouring in
Brightness and light surrounds

Thump thump...a heartbeat
Keeping rhythm to the clock of time
No beginning...no end
Only a middle

Memories are all we have now
Those are forever
Running out of time...time...time
The warmth is gone

The wind picks up a little
Rain falls upon my face
Too bad I forgot my umbrella
Suppose it wouldn't have mattered anyway

"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away"

Melancholy, and appealing train of thoughts.
Nice write.
