The Secret

There is a secret behooves my face
Old as time never moved its place
I’ve searched the fringes of my mind
And to myself have been unkind

I searched the stars and searched my dwell
I looked in heaven, looked in hell
The answer seemed impossible
Attainment seemed improbable

It seemed to me outside my clutch
A vision just outside my touch
An endless path, endless discuss
Yet part of life my omnibus

A rainbow reaching to the clouds
A puff of lace a colored shroud
A faith so strong where nothings wrong
Two souls that meet and sing one song

It is the hand that wears a glove
Whose touch will offers up, just love

Whoa, a hell of a heavenly write

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Seymour,

Looks to me like you are on a quest for the Holy Grail again.  I sense a little irony, spiced with humor and wit to complete the cocktail.

I love the following two lines:

The answer seemed impossible
Attainment seemed improbable

possibly because by reversing the assumptions it spells out what I have found for most of my life:

The answer seemed improbable
Attainment seemed impossible

Loved the poem (excuse my mind) LOL

And, not the glove that wears the hand;
To love, 'tis all there is for man.

Loved this poem, Sy.  The question of our being, our seeking....and the answer, all in this wonderful poem!   ....jo
