My words get lost
in the chill of the morning
as memories of you blow through me,
a sudden wind that gives no warning.

What do I do
with a day like today?
I am lonely and missing you
and wonder why you couldn't stay.

March is gone now so
I shouldn't still be feeling this way.

I suppose you'll never know it,
how deep the pain you caused,
you took the easy way out
and my entire life paused.

It comes hard every March,
dwindling down through April and May,
being lonely and missing you,
wondering why you couldn't stay.
