These Are My Shoes

I am tough
I am tender
I can wear
both well
I fit in
each shoe
with perfection
skin like silk
will of iron
simple in
the intricate
obeying rules
breaking them
reaching out
and pulling in
unafraid of
some things
terrified of others
strength in weakness
weaknesses in strength
sound in
the knowing
of the fire
loving the mystery
of its mist
this is
the woman
that I am

1slick_lady,

This would be improved by using fewer first person singular pronouns.  I'd even consider putting it in the third person.
