           Reverberation

           Maybe it is that time
time to turn off the news
and the grind of the day
           quit worrying about it
cash in what is left in the market
           find that well placed cabin
           with a porch.

           I wouldn't need much.

But I will need that garden
               and an ol' fishin hole
a cat who will nap on my lap
               and a woman in cotton
               who I can write to
               late in the night
while I listen for the whip-poor-wills
               and the owls
               and the midnight freight . . .

                 (thanks for the idea, H)

Me too! I think you have beautifully displayed the essential, dear Krawdad.

May there be no need for "shriveling"!

I absolutely love this.  I read Helen's original, this one and Helen's reply and they are all magical.  I think they should be reposted together in order, but only after there are any more reverberations of the echoes.

Trying hard not to be a matchmaker, but from all accounts in your echoing poems, you sound like the perfect poetic pair.

Sounds like a plan! (I think I'll do the same... haha)

Other than that it's a nice poem too!

I got the garden, the fishing hole, the cat, and a man I could write to every night if I felt the love to do so...

always greener on the other side of the fence I guess.

Good to read you once again Kraw. Have missed you.

Mister Krawdad....this 'echo/reverb' is superb. Would you and Helen consider continuing this as an ongoing series for the benefit of readers like me??? Please?
It's beautiful...the point/counterpoint style.
