When a poet is silenced
the world is still
as if there is no bird
to sing the joys of morning,
No dreams
to steal through the night,
No voice
to speak of love.
No heart to break
for the sad realities of life.
And words...
words are just so much clatter
in a mundane world.

And then
a fellow poet takes up the pen
to honor,
with love,
a fallen friend.
and the bird begins to sing
again,
The poets dream,
and though they grieve,
they speak of love
that never ends.
and (as I believe)
life goes on.

Indeed it does, Ida. We pick up our burdens
and we carry on. It's the laying down of
them, and bowing our head, no matter if it
be a moment, or a day, or longer...He makes
sure that we follow the light.

Thank you for this one, m'friend.

Poetry is a God given tallent, to be shared with His children, and often, I think he loves his poets just a little more.
So, When our time comes to go Home, I beleive he welcomes us with open arms, for he wishes to hear of our Earthly journey, Hopefully, In verse, Rhyme, In Poetry.

Yes Ida, that is true. Life does go on. But, sometimes it does take a while to get back to that point to where you can get on with life.

Beautifully said, dear Ida!

Life goes on, on a different level, for those who moved on too, I believe. And our hearts know and perceive this ... and through the pen, like yours, expresses it.

Love,
Margherita

Hello, Ida. I just returned from a visit to Marge's page, after immersing myself in the songs of her spiritual journey. I am reminded of the passing of George Gershwin, whereupon a dear friend and colleague said: "I can choose not to believe it, can't I?" Those words have taken on new meaning for me.
