Bones tries to avoid
Duke City.

He stays away from the place
when he can.

Only a few things will bring
Bones to Duke City.

One is disrespecting Mom,
two is disrespecting his Griselda,
and three is disrespecting
Holy Mother Church.

Then you can bet on it,
you’re going to downtown Duke City,
and Bones will be your escort.

Bobby

Authors note:

To go to Duke City is to have a fist fight with someone.

You have stated this clearly, dear Bobby.
If only it wasn't necessary to use the fists to be understood and respected!

Thanks dear Margherita,

Here in the hood it's a cultural thing.  I haven't been to Duke City in about 55 years.

To not go to Duke City when you're young is pretty much social death.

I have a very close friend and businness associate from Scotland who rather fancied himself as a tough guy.  On his first visit here we got home at night, just in time to witness two teenagers visiting Duke City over in the playground.  He suddenly lost his toughness, and felt at home.

I never discouraged, or encouraged my boys from going to Duke City, they visited there on their own.

I think it's a universal boy thing.

It's great to see you here again.

Love Bobby

Thanks dear Juju,

What you say is very true.  People here don't disrespect others very much.  Thanks for reading and commenting.

Love Bobby

Duckin'it out, ha ha, I was mostly the referee Bobby, except for the ring at the neighborhood gym. Enjoyed the read, another reminder of the streets of yore.
