I got a Democratic fundraising appeal today in which the authors claimed Michele Bachman, a Republican Congresswoman had made a speech making some of the following statements:

quote:

President Obama's recovery package includes a "national rationing board" to make health care decisions for you (a lie), billions of dollars for the community organizing group ACORN (another lie), and...are you ready for this one...$1,430 for every man, woman, child on earth (the biggest lie of all, or possibly a broken calculator).

In hopes that somebody here will send them a large check, I doubt there will be any problem with reproduction.  Also, they did say that I could forward it to whomever I wanted, and I choose you guys.

Even as a lifelong Democrat I find this difficult to believe, and I welcome comments that folks care to offer.  Is there widespread belief out there for this sort of stuff?  Or are my friends simply taking the words of a lone wingnut and blowing them out of proportion or am I completely missing the point here.  There will be money raised on the strength of this ad, you can bet on it.  To what degree is this an accurate reflection of Republican thinking, though?

Sincerely, Bob Kaven

Well Bob,

I didn't find anything at snoops sooooo

She's totally nuts of course and her premise is flawed.

(It may be more that the rich people are running out on us.....)

But the fact that this is a Democratic Campaign Ad is.... HiIlarious.

I don't know if I'd spend too much money to get rid of this gal though. She may not be around much longer......lol

She's a kook....we have them on both sides of the aisle.

I agree with Turtle. Using her words to proclaim, "Look! There's a republican saying nasty things about us....send us money!" is humor at it's best.

She is a little weird. [most of our politicians are]  However the Dem. in Minnesota tend to put us in the financial deep end. That's why she gets reelected.
