New Years Eve and Beyond

Might as well
have been placed upon
a flashing neon sign,
"Some flights are
subject to delay"
and one of those
flights happened
to be mine.

I had arrived three hours
early, not wanting
to miss my flight,
but instead of seven
our flight would
be departing
into the middle
of the night.

My flight from Los Angeles
airport to Honolulu airport
was delayed from seven pm
until ten pm, so instead of arriving
in Honolulu at eleven pm on New Years eve,
we arrived about two in the morning,
on New Years day.

Thank you Scorpio, Enchantress, The Lady, garysgirl, passing shadows and JL for the nice responses...and Happy New Years...
Over all it was a wonderful trip and a nice flight, except for the arriving at 2:00 a.m. and I didn't want to call any of my friends, so I enquired of a cab and they said 50 or 60 dollars, so I decided to take the bus for 2 dollars, and arrived home at about 4:30 a.m...holiday schedule...
In days following I watched on the news about airport employees stealing the passengers luggage...fortunately mine was not taken...James
