Sweep and search! Sweep and search!
The baby's in the playpen and
she
wants
out.

Her hands are creased
and dry now.
and skin no longer smooth
Fine lines of fallen years
pressed tight against her skin.

Eyes are dark
and clouded now
no longer what they were
Now eaten by
nasty fog
he doesn't care for manners at all.

She stares out over
falling crystals
gracing hilltops and the like.
Ice flakes drop
into her searching, dying hands
and nothing melts at all.

She sits within a body
heavy with discarded wrappers
of yesteryear.

She thought she was safe in there.

Inside her head
is a baby in a playpen
and she
wants
OUT
