In The Same Place As You
for anyone who needs it

I understand that your days are long
and your nights are even longer,
I understand that your road is hard
and how you wish you could be stronger.

I know of your pain, I've felt it too,
having been in the same place as you.

I see that your cross is heavy,
it's all you can do to bear,
I see that your life isn't easy,
I see you cry because it's not fair.

I know of your pain, I've felt it too,
having been in the same place as you.

I believe that you'll pull through just fine,
in the end, you'll be okay,
I believe that I will be right here
to help you out along the way.

I know of your pain, I've felt it too,
having been in the same place as you.

A poem begins with a lump in the throat.

unforgivable decisions!!!

Thanx...You've touched that spot, Miss Dixie

Hi there,
I really enjoyed this piece.  The meter and rhymes were excellent, and the repetition of the two lines between every stanza had a powerful impact.  Well written.

I read this and it somehow reminded me of my son, going through some of the things I did when I was younger.  Not sure what your inspiration was for this but it reaches out just the same.

Now then, I think I will go call my son.

Hi Michael. It's a pleasure to see you again. You are missed when you are away.

My inspiration for this...a few good friends, two lovely daughters, and some very special blue pages full of poets who know about life's hard knocks.

I am in a better position than I once was (emotionally, financially, physically, spiritually) so it's easier now for me to be on the giving end.

I guess getting older isn't all that bad

Thanks for reading, and I'm glad you received something special from it.

Dixie,
It's like I saved this poem to read it when I needed it most.

Thank you -- I needed it.
