His time on earth was completed!

He stood before THE LORD THY GOD!

IT IS TRUE!

YOU ARE IN FACT REAL!

The FATHER looked at him,

then HE gave him a nod!

YES!

I AM WHO THEY SAID I AM!

I AM THE CREATOR OF EARTH AND HEAVEN!

YOU SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THEM!

THEY TRIED TO TELL YOU!

NOW IT IS YOUR FAULT FOR WHAT IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN!

I was a good person LORD!

I helped many people!

I tried to show everyone love!

MY WORD SAYS,

YOU CANNOT GET TO HEAVEN BY GOOD WORKS!

YOU CAN ONLY ENTER INTO MY KINGDOM,

BY BELIEVING IN MY ONLY BEGOTTON SON!

Please give me another chance LORD!

I'm so sorry for not believing in YOU!

I'M SORRY MY SON!

YOU SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THEM!

YOU HAVE HAD MANY CHANCES TO REPENT!

NOW THERE IS NOTHING MORE I CAN DO!

TAKE HIM AWAY!

THIS WILL TRULLY BE YOUR DARKEST HOUR!

NOW FOR ALL ETERNITY,

YOU'LL BE TORMENTED BY SATAN AND HIS DEMONS!

YOU'LL FOREVER BE WITH THEM IN THE LAKE OF FIRE!

[Arguments removed - Ron]

P.S. to any moderators, this is not a criticism of poetry, nor is it a criticism. it is a plea for enligtening.

Ron: Actually, it's a discussion about the theme of the poem and, duh, this isn't a Discussion forum. We have those, of course. We even have one specifically targeted towards discussions of philosophy and religion. I would invite you over to Philosophy 101 but, frankly, your combative tone wouldn't be any more welcome there than it is here.

Please consider this your final warning. There's plenty of places on the Internet for attitude, but this isn't one of them.

religion is a vast topic
one you could spend your entire life studying and never get the truth anyway

one never really knows the truth until they die and they can't tell us then

I myself have studied different religions and it's just too much to deal with at my age I think. It's a big world with many views. Very confusing, to be thrown off track when I was sure I was on the right one.

To believe that there is only one religion is a very narrow way to think.

I love Jesus too but there's no way you will ever see me writing a poem like this...but that's what makes us different. Variety is the spice of life, ey?

Okay, I cannot stay out of the fray.
I personally believe this belongs in another forum, but, be that as it may, the author is speaking of God and you would do well to honor his belief by capitalizing the word in your response, "themute."   That would at least show respect for his thoughts and beliefs.

Since he obviously believes in God, and I believe you are acutely aware of that belief, why argue or debate his belief?

My honest feeling is that this is not poetry, rather it is prose or a philosophical commentary.  That said, there is a forum for "poetry" of this type, if this is, in fact, deemed to be poetry.

BTW, "I love Jesus," I support your thesis.

P.S. I live with a wiccan so I'm challenged on every religious conversation we have...best to stay in my room sometimes
