what bends my back to the chore of oaring
this anchored stone on current's brim
with bow to the wind's rend of my endeavoring

like the gossamer clouds in deluge pawl
when frothed to frenzy by a glutton's wind
wearing her storms as a beckon's jewels

we are but the sounds of the wolfer's men
their heathen hooves in winter's pain
galloping the ides of december's gamble

and tattering the sides of bison's hides
with the rages of their demon's eyes
piercing the still of mirror ponds and then

they speak voiceless as do I, the journey's men
