Has anyone here seen grandma
Weve been searching high and low
It's time she joined the senior's home
But she doesn't want to go
She packed up all her make-up
Paid her botox bill in full
Her kids think she should act her age
She thinks that that's bull!

Her hair salon is worried
Her dye job is almost due
She comes like clockwork every week
They'll miss the revenue
The old age club is miffed
She never joins the group
And tries to lure the rest of them
To come and fly the coop!

Last week she went dancing
And partied all night long
Then someone handed her a mike
And she sang a bawdy song
Please help us to find grandma
She's getting much too bold
She decided she's too young for us
For she's never growing old!

Grandma Bea

Beatrice,

Love it...maybe because I can relate.  You made me smile on a cold, damp morning.

Grandma Bea, I'm with you babe! The older I get, the higher I kick! I don't plan on lying down in green pastures! ~ I'll be dancing across them! I may embrace the Wisdom of advancing years ~ but not the Wrinkles. I have a spa team that is working hard at keeping my outsides as young as my insides! lol

We are like a fine Bordeaux wine! We get better with age!

Love your poem ~ and your spirit!

Happy Holiday Hugs,
EA

Hi Earth Angel...I vowed long ago that I would not go gently into that good night, but rage...rage...laugh and deny that I'm ever a day older!

As for the high kicks...my new knee refuses to join me!

Keep on truckin`.

I think I love your grandma! Dancing till I'm 190 sounds good to me.   )  Such a cute poem and just thought I'd tell you my daughter is a grandma and she's only 33!  She would definitely agree!

But shouldn't we enjoy
such a second childhood?

I mean, we were too young
to have THAT much fun...

and you KNOW what I mean!

Oh, you bring a wonderful lift
of spirit to our forums, Bea!

She'll die of looking at pots and pans
dishes to wash and wrinkled old hands.
Her man lies in state in an easy chair
with the boob tube on and can't see her there.
Makeup and hair dye, and push-ups, too,
wings on her heels are long overdue.
The kids are all busy, she's put out a writ
of wee care for hire, she won't babysit.
Sparkling now, her eyes at a glance
say there's no time like the present--
  she's learning to dance.
With toenails painted and dancing shoes donned
One flash in the mirror and old granny is gone!

(Not all true...that new grandbaby is a doll!)
