Treading I tread a path that billions tread Some alive but most are dead Lit by lanterns fueled by why Washed by tears of time and cry To this I add one flicker more To light the way of shadows door A candlelight that bears my sigh This trifling flick of modest try I serve it to eternity On platters of fraternity Burn the tallow as all the rest And try my very, very best I as others would pierce the night And read the white as more than light Tread the rainbow past its bend And find this treasure at its end It’s than I’d draw a map for thee A path to go and set you free |
