Sweet smelling live potted holiday tree
Shimmers in a drape of twinkling lights
Gaily wrapped gifts from shopping spree
Sure to capture a heart’s delights
Scattered ‘neath boughs, with vows of thee

Oh, the wonders that make this holiday
An eternally celestial giving memory!

HELLO...HELLO...so good to read your words again...I always feel like I am being embraced in the beauty of the forest when I read your work and believe me with there being so few trees where I live that is very important....**BIG HUGS***

I remember the smell of a real Christmas tree, and its been a lot of years since I've had one.  Thanks for the memory.

Kacy,
And I should have figured that out for myself. May you two have a peaceful holiday filled with joy.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Excellent post!

I do not believe in 'murdering' conifers...
I'm glad the reference here was to a 'potted' one!

I especially liked the ending:

"the wonders that make this holiday
An eternally celestial giving memory"

A living Christmas tree! How lovely! I felt like crying when we used to chop down our own! Well, I didn't actually take part in the 'execution'. I could imagine the tree screaming! Not a very merry Christmas for our conifer friends!

Have a glorious Christmas and may the coming year be a joyous one!

Love & Christmas Light,

Linda
