The It Within

It's the wearing down of life
a portfolio secured
to weather the perfection of
the loneliness insured.

Some say it is a time of new...
but to me it's the other one
where knowing should have echoed out
when "it" had just begun.

Those stepping stones on river's cross
where a tumble would have been,
blocked instead, has left the dread
of prints now living in.

I blame myself for kind of heart,
believing, future's view
but now have learned the lessons of
"that smiles sometimes miscue."

Sometimes a door reopens,
sometimes cliches are gifts.
But for the now, I stay the course
to face this present shift.

In the silence that surrounds me
some memories are on the dim.
Moments that were layered gold
have lost their glittered trim.

Here again the words once lost
regain their edged appeal.
Needing out from deep within,
my "It" allowing feel.

M

You do have a way with words, Maureen

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

This 'write' once again (to me) is fine 'relationship dejavu'
(a slice of the 'every-person' life)....what most (all?) of us have
(unfortunately) experienced.

especially:

"I blame myself for kind of heart,
believing, future's view
but now have learned the lessons of
"that smiles sometimes miscue."

Sometimes a door reopens,
sometimes cliches are gifts.
But for the now, I stay the course
to face this present shift.

In the silence that surrounds me
some memories are on the dim.
Moments that were layered gold
have lost their glittered trim."

....precisely why I choose to be a 'NOW-ist'!...the past is (obviously)
irrevocable; the future powerless to be born; all we really  have is the 'Now'...
the clay of grand and sparklin' 'present potentialites' to work with!

Roniece Dawson-Bruce,passing shadows,
Interloper,trutodaraiders,Enchantress,
Nightshade, thank you for taking the time to read and respond.
Sometimes you have to wipe the slate clean and realize what seemed to be never was or maybe still isn't...if you know what I mean.

I try to be honest in my life, at least with my feelings, so if any of this touched you then I am thankful for a bit of "knowing" ...
