Upon Cold Parisian Nights

In the winter time the trees
blow upon the breeze as if
welcoming you to this City
full of lights, while lovers
carry on without a care
and passionate kisses they
share deep into the night.

I shared many a warm kiss
with a young woman that I miss,
who wanted to believe that
I would never go away.
She was such a delight
upon cold Parisian nights,
a pity that I could not stay.
