A Letter To Santa

Dear Santa, this is little Bill and Christmas time is near
I want to ask you Santa for a special gift this year
My Daddy’s in the army and he had to go away
I’d like for you to bring him home to us on Christmas Day

I’ve tried to be so very good, so Santa you could see
How much I want my Daddy back home here with Mom and me
It makes me so sad Santa to see tears in Mommy’s eyes
I know she misses Daddy too and that is why she cries

If you could do this Santa it would make me very glad
It would be the bestest Christmas that I have ever had
I’ve been the very best I could but I’m a little boy
And if you do this Santa I won’t ask you for a toy

I know my Daddy had to go to fight an awful war
But Santa, maybe you could ask them not to fight no more
Then everybody’s Daddies could come home for Christmas day
And they could all ride home with you upon your magic sleigh

I miss my Daddy oh so much, while he is over seas
I’m hoping dearest Santa that you’ll bring him to us please
Keep all my other presents and the candy if you will
Just bring my Daddy home to me, signed your friend little Bill
