Curb Appeal

Mix and match the colors
it’s time to decorate the lawn
and all the piles are leaves from trees
no ornaments for me

How easy stringing leaves can be
my rakes at ready like a gift
laying there with teeth a muck
with clods of dirt and grass all stuck

Icicles of sunlight
chimney of sky
carol a love song
mistletoe a lullaby

See, I figure they are god's leaves; she put them there, in time she will take them away.

Every year, at this time of year, I sure do miss my mistletoe belt buckle.

Nice poem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Martie,
And the scent of smoke awaits. Begging to be a pleasure. I like lawns like that.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I can always find you, outside. I like that about you and your poetry. Refreshing little outdoor ditty. Good to see you, hon.

love,

MartieSis~

~Seasons
Beauty displayed
Decorating the lawn
In poetic pieces of fluff
Just the right word-stuff to mesmerize me
Into feeling your soft words drift
Giving my heart a lift
Such 'Martiesque'
Seasons~

No matter how we prepare, it's the heart of the holiday that always shines.

I'm with you, no decorations exceed the beauty of nature's.  I love the brilliant colors of autumn leaves and the glistening snow.  Enjoyed this piece.

Oh how fortune spins her wheel
to make sure each curb has appeal
and I hug myself and smile
to think of you across the miles
I am blessed and thank god/dess
to know and love this poetess!

and oh you do make me smile--

and speaking of icycles, I know a certain icy bit--
a man so sweet and talented
who melts our hearts with such replies--
Melt him? Oh I'd like to try!

(tsk...was that below the belt?)

Love to you both!

Enjoyed your rhyme, queen pip!

I've been to this poem a half-dozen times since you posted it, but haven't answered because I just couldn't come up with the kind of facile reply I thought I needed to make.

I guess I never will, so I'll just say thank you for the moment, which you could have kept to yourself, but shared. We all need such moments, and to see one through your eyes is added beauty.
