The devil hides to slowly intrude
He heightens the pleasure to murder the mood
He cuts out desire to watch as it bleeds
Intrudes on the soul as he plants all his seeds

He cages the goodness in cell somewhere lost
To feed us with visions that someday will cost
Allows us temptation and sins of his make
So when it’s all over, our soul he can take

passing shadows
