             "The Rose"

The beauty of the lovely rose
        over shadows any pain.
It strikes a wonderous beauty pose
        till the vision does remain.
The love that holds love binding
is the color bright and strong.
    The journey to their finding
is the stem, dark and long.
The thorns protect the blooming love
so that it grows much higher,
to rise and soar on heights above,
        not hindered by life's briar.
As the color fades to gray
        the petal slowly dies.
    The vision never goes away,
        memories in their eyes.
The rose will never lose its art,
        when lovers really care.
The color stays within their heart,
stemmed by the love they share.

I love the describtion that you give here. I thought this poem had a nice flow behind the meaning. There are many many poems about roses or metaphors. This poem stood out above many I have read over the years. Have you read my sun in rose must fade? I think you might enjoy it. Thank you for sharing this poem. Nicely done ~Bill

Very nice, I really enjoyed it. It's a very pastoral poem, idyllic even.

Good work *claps*
