Within this chest there aches
a pain i cannot ease,
pray, still my mind,
leave me be,
or be merciful
and take me.
For this madness,
i can no longer endure,
tightens it's grip,
until,
i can hardly breathe
prolonging my pain.
How can i live my life,
tormented.
Flickering memories of you,
haunt me,
both in my waking, and sleeping hours.
My world is empty
without my heart
without my soul,
i shall know no peace.

Cuts right to the chase of the story, the profound and all encompassing love of two souls wilder than the wind...even death cannot seperate them...just casting shadows of dark turmoil upon them for eternity...Ms Bronte would like this tribute to her great work..as for me..?..I love it!..Thank you..

I read the book back in highschool and all I can remember of it is how depressed I was the whole week I was reading it.  Good poem-cuts away all the extra verbiage.
