“The time has come, oh lonely one,
to forfeit tales and dreams.”
Spoke voice of reason, in tones well-seasoned,
Of long lost hopes and schemes.
“It’s time to see that clouds cannot cry,
and rivers run though no feet”.
“It is now to see no prince will come,
to sweep you off small feet.”

But listen not, do ears of mine.
See not, these eyes so blue.
Believe with might, I tell myself,
And all things will come true.
Keep faith, beating heart of purity,
For fantasy does live.
Seek with open mind and spirit,
For one who longs to give.

“Heed my words”, does hollow voice speak.
Heed them not mind replies.
“Look up and speak to me the truth,
what see you in blue skies?”
“Oceans” say I, “of angry tears”
“and cattail fluff adrift”
“Amber pouring from azure seas”
Reason’s voice left bereft.

For with no dreams, days lack reason.
And nights will be for sleep.
And hope is the fruit that sustains me,
When hunger pains grow deep.
And fantasy, it is my friend.
When sorrows find my door.
Spoke I to quiet voice of reason,
Silenced now and for evermore.

Sandra keep hoping and wishing and may your dream come true. I believe that there is a prince out there looking for you!

A lovely pour from your angelic heart.

you need not deaf ears
when the voice of reason speaks
open up your heart

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

"Hope is the fruit that sustains me."

Very, Very powerful!! Wonderful write and sentiment.

Without a dream, life is tragically diminished.. a parody of itself. Even if the dream never fully materializes, the striving is what matters.
