Tomorrow’s Encounters
By Paul Wilson

You forced your way inside
taking your pleasure from my pain
Raping my mind with no regard
for my loss what would you gain

Like a thief you struck
in darkness of night
Words and memories missing
before I could put up a fight

Why did you choose me
what gave you the right
Give me back my memories
give me back my sight

Even thou you won the battle
today I will even the score
Give me a ray of hope today
and tomorrow I’ll win the war

My train of thought fading fast
words are spoken but nothing heard
I have but one last thing to say
even thou my speech is slurred

You lost the war today
I am the victor you see
From this disease called cancer
I am finally free

Ahh so true! Cancer is a thief that steals many lifes, and has stolen many friends, and family members. This poem reflects victory on a once darkend day. Kudos! Nice post.

Roniece... Thanks for caring and asking.
This is fictional, even though I have lost relatives to cancer.
Most of my writing is from the standpoint of trying to see things thru anothers eyes...Paul
