The Scales of Sacrifice

I have wondered
I have dreamt ...
I have gazed in disbelief

I have wandered
I have preped ...
I have raised in this relief

Innocence loss has nothing gained
imagine the blood that has been stained
In a dragon's breath, unleashed, unreigned

Take me to wing, your protective sheild
hide my heart, my eyes well yeild
In a dragon's death I stand unsteeled ....

I have fought
I have feared ...
I have survived

I have sought
I have revered ...
and now I've cried

For in these scales of sacrifice
the very wings that I now entice
this dragon's part shares my fire and ice

Innocence regained, nothing lost
time has allowed our souls to be crossed
a dragon's heart ultimate in cost

In rhythms to a rise the days shall follow ... each Yesterday, each Tomorrow.   -  Ct/05

Craig, I am afraid my foggy mind doesn't understand this fully, but I feel it, and see your sadness, and hope in it.
