Deep Down

As I walked on thoroughfares of leaves
Along uncharted paths where nature breathes
Deep pine and autumn oak seemed wise and tall
So many years they’ve had, to ring the essence of it all

The sun shone brightly to give thanks
I joined the sparkle of her ranks in chime
Kneeling down to share these thanks of mine
Remembering some hearts I carry near divine

November found in hushed regard
Made temperate in nature’s yard today
In the company of spirits high, my mind at play
Then pause, to tie my laces, drink the water, pray

The real of core born longing for your smile
Wishes to be sharing love in every mile high
The center of a soul-to-soul connection filled my eye
Welled the deepest recess of a heart felt sigh

For you…I could not change reality ‘tis true
But there deep down, to warm my life, you do

This poem almost needs to be read in a reverent whisper. I enjoyed the walk through your autumn of remembrance.

Revealing the deep down… is revealing.
A masterpiece.
You have graced the reader
with the tenderness of your heart,
and the wonderful workings of your mind.

I am truely thankful for gods creation and the poet that can define it so well.

Poetry is just the evidence of life.
If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash. "
