My mind's eyes follow your gaze
into darkest midnight’s soulful skies.
Why is it time stands still as I think of you?
The great dipper hangs suspended above us,
on different yet parallel planes,
much as my thoughts do while
you point to celestial bodies,
names slipping from your tongue with such ease,
as if they were intimate friends.
A golden smiling Moon acknowledges your essence
in ways I never knew possible.
Shadows follow you more closely than most,
under the fullness of the glowing moon.
Crickets sing more vibrantly;
yonder barn owl winks in recognition,
lofty thoughts winging in the crisp night air.

"Step softly over the stones," you whisper.
"Do not let your footfall disturb the movement
of the scurrying lizards."

Soft mournful loon cries greet me
from a nearby reflecting lake,
echoing deeply my throat's cry.
Rhythms of nature blending
heartbeats of the ancients
fill the night air with acceptance
of the continual rites of love’s passage,
an unfolding of the essence of life.

Wrapped in anticipation,
cloaked in a passionate resolve
to make every moment count,
I lift my face to receive
the warm moist breath of life.

Shooting stars surround us
as we fall upon soft grasses,
enfolded within each other's arms.
The stroke of you upon my spirit
awakens sleeping passions,
far too long hidden
'neath layers
of self-imposed exile.

to be continued...

Mercy that is lovely Kacy, and will be looking for the continuation for sure.  I have not had time to be here what with life, and a new puppy, but all is good!  Hope you and Sara are well.

Sharon, thank you! A new puppy? OH my, I know you are sooo busy!
And Sara is off living her dream in Goldendale Washington, working with Lipizzaners and running around with her camera whenever time permits, photographing those magnificent horses.
Have a great Holiday season! and yes, you WILL hear/see/read more about Love's lights!

Siyo MidniteSun,I so love to read the soft love poems,to dream such things can be real. I was given at sixteen to a man I had never met,my bride price was high but never for me the first date, first kiss, holding hands beneath a full moons light.I do not complain so very much,in truth I recieved six beautifl children but at times wonder what is this thing love.It was not what my grandmother meant for me,but my fathers choice.

I have no words adequate enough to even begin to add to the comments others have already made about this 'write'!  When this poet really 'lets go'...and speaks from the absolutely grand depths of her fine mind, heart, and spirit...the results are truly magnificent!
