Annals Of Time

Memories of childhood
I remember,   {do you remember}
the touch of youth
sounds of whimsical laughter
in snowflakes fall
was held the mystery
of the seasons,
the feel of carefree
and gaiety existed
around corners unturned
to only fade with passing of time.

~and time passed by~

Days of frivolity
were bypassed
    {as were the days of our youth}
and maturity was endowed early
no, not because we forgot how
to enjoy,
but because
    life    necessitated it.

~and we learned~

Lessons were taught
while battles were lost
and we reveled in
whatever special moments
that were tossed our way
because we were given the gift
to be thankful and pray.

~and in faith we grew~

With each trial, came strength
and a granting of wisdom
that’s only gifted through time
passed from generation to generation
through our blood line,

passed on now to our daughters
and to our sons
our journey, on going
theirs just begun

~and we traveled~

passed from ours to us,
and now us to them,
then someday to be passed on
to theirs again.

          Our story, our heritage
our history,
      written through rhyme
a lineage of living,
in annals of time.
                                                                        {Dedicated to my sisters}

seek the flame within yourself
and let your soul be cleansed by
the fire of love.  Axel Ekenstierna

another great write, yes, oft do I ponder childhood and wonder what it would be like if we all, as human beings realized how our words, actions might take away the innocent child in all of us, perhaps we'd be in a better place?

Lovely write

Very lovely!

A sweet and gentle write of those days of naivety.

Thanks for the memories....
