What is it about little boys that put smiles on daddy’s faces?
They are always sticking food and toys in some of the darndest places.
I’ve found crackers in the hamper, peanut butter in the drawers,
Chocolate cookies on the ceiling fan, and crumbled on the floor.
Sippy cups behind the bed, I’m sure they’re placed for future use
But now the liquid they once held you couldn’t drink but have to chew!
There’s his hot wheel in my sneakers, I searched for hours for that toy,
Well I would have bought another but there’s no room left to store.
I laid the car keys on the counter; I was sure it’s out of reach,
He used the drawers just like a ladder, climbing up them with bare feet.
I heard a jingle and a giggle as he ran across the floor,
Past his mommy to the bathroom, we had failed to close the door.
Toilet water doesn’t do a car door opener any good,
But at least he didn’t flush them like a REALLY bad boy would.

i liked this, it reminds me of me as a child, and it's a good use of vers libre. Welcome to this sight, don't get too discouraged in the future if people don't pay you much mind; i speak from experience.

Thanks for the warm welcome, good to be here. I pen my heart and my little boy is the beat that keeps me alive and makes me who I am. I hope life gives me the chance to be able to post and spend more time here.
