Love to Refine

15 November 2006

Where a mind is set,
and the word was love.
Comes this division,
in praises and hope,
all of discussion to God above.

A father in heaven, yet void of faith,
as if there was more to just building
this foundation of the human race.
Two hearts divided, but wanting more,
yet one heart to live, another to adore.

For where was love, if not united,
separation, not the truth to ponder.
Where was beauty, if set apart,
this beat, this love, a feeling of the heart.

Such excuses, all abound in string,
a tangled web, and the network of kin.
When the mind was willing, nevertheless unkind,
because then where was this focus upon love,
the feeling of two souls linked, distanced to refine.

"But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall
stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and
like fullers' soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier
of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge
them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto
the LORD an offering in righteousness."
Malachi 3: 2-3 KJV
