A kiss, a kiss, the mighty power The lure that draws the bee to flower The potent undertows of force The waters of a river’s source A kiss, a kiss, the cooing dove A flush of truth, a flow of love A thread that pulls the passion string And softly deals a numbing sting Like sunset skies in orange hues The glory of a kiss imbues The skin, the heart, the soul, the face All dreams and flesh in its embrace The evening skies we praise as such So far removed from earthly touch Are sunsets pail in loveliness Beside the beauty of a kiss A kiss, a kiss, a soft caress A touch of velvet tenderness Of lips on lips innately drawn Like petals touching in the dawn Elizabeth Santos |
