Crossing Miles

My fingers cross the miles of space
To touch the softness of your face
They stretch across a canyon’s breadth
To stoke the contour of your chest

There is a feeling in my lips
A touch inside my fingertips
There is a longing in my skin
Projected from the depths within

Though far beyond all touch and sight
You fill the spaces of the night
You are more real than realness seems
And give me more than realness deems

In perfect stillness of the night
You let me hold you in my dreams

In the ever-most-humble opinion of this one unabashedly “incurable romantic”, I feel that this poem is as good as it ever gets!  A most lovely ‘write’!
[My tiny, tenuous ‘poetic voice’ is assuredly in the company of greatness on this fine website!]
