Speaking in many tongues
Is the way of man, as he is
For the words, thru time
Has always been, the way
Man has to say, what is

The speaking of tongues
Is not the problem at hand
Instead the problem is
The way the tongue speaks

For some, the only way seen
Is the way they see
For others, many ways to see
What there is to be seen
Who is right, who is wrong
Neither should judge the other
For as it is said, judge not
Least ye be judged as well

So speak as you speak, with wisdom
Not the tongue, that shrieks with threat
For man is never known to accept
The shriek of such a tongue, in history

It is ironic, in its own way
All religions, no matter the name
Speaks of peace and tranquility
Yet some take this, that they speak
Interpret their own words, in their
Own way, to be used as they choose
To condemn those, that choose not their
Way, instead choose the way, as they see
In the words of the tongue, given to them

Maybe, kinder, if man had no tongue
The words would not be, for him to use
Then the words, could not condemn
The one that chose different than him

Since this is not so, man will use
His tongue to lash out, with it bitterness
Always seeking, something that is not there
Always seeking more than is there
Always in many tongues
Allowing the tongue to have its way
A sad epitet for such a lovely gift
