Call it garlic, hung clove by clove ’round her neck
To ward off bad spirits and to fire breath;
Each segment mood, a plight, a day,
Prompting attitude to curtain decay.

The poet is what words become
when dress fills air and stage,
The meter is what tows the mood;
Feet can calm the rage.
(All the while, the vampire waits backstage...)

The words are strung around her neck,
The scent guards its stay;
Saved by sounds redecorating thoughts
Stress removed by letters' play.

Meet her in garlic, she sings her tease,
Meter in garlic, words, if you please;
Written, poetic ornaments are safe.
Mood unstressed, a day's release.

My poetic "meter" has much in common with garlic... it stinks! LOL
