Gloves Off

It came to light inside
That feeling meant to change me
Profound, these thinking chords
Keeping my skirt neat

Were my stockings straight?
That day you appeared so benign,
did nothing to dampen my perpetual desire!
And less is not a curse, but a conviction
To be more…deeper, stronger…closer, longer

And you?
Do men always measure everything
By the length of their perception?

Well listen then,
Let me stand my ground
Hear my heart, go or stay around

Romance does not begin in sin
Just as breathing cannot be trained
Nor principals, a line drawn in the sand
Passion drives, and we are passengers

And yes, at times the timid speak loudly
In a room filled with voided amnesty
Not needing to stand out, just stand up

Let the birds eat the breadcrumbs,
My feet seek an epic adventure
The one where my arrow flies
Straight to your heart

It came to light inside
A huntress, with nothing more to say
Quiver, filled with inspiration now in play
Motivation by the peck in a long, slow kiss
Meant to tickle your fancy
Gloves off…just like this

Ahhhhh ha...

TD....this is one of your
closest to the vest bests....

and one that the women
will be glad to see
and take
as one of their own
visions.

Well done!

What a strong poem, I enjoyed it greatly.

you definitely have the gloves off in this plus you have a few things on your mind...that it sounds like you would also like to get off. Well done verse.

It has been a very long time since I’ve chanced to spend a ‘very long time’  deeply studying one poem! [THIS is the one!.....] Parts of this poem are what I call  grand-   or universal-level poetry that slip along the immortal plain......
containing many individual lines that are ‘poems in themselves’ [as reminicent of the marvelous works ofHenry David Thoreau]…… lines such as:

“Passion drives, and we are passengers”

and men ‘measuring everthing’:

”By the length of their perception”

and, then, for an unabashedly ‘incurable romantic’ like myself…..there is the  quintessential quest!:

“My feet seek an epic adventure
The one where my arrow flies
Straight to your heart”

I shall be re-readin’ this one ‘til infinity taps on my window panes!
[both as a man……and an (alleged) poet…I am deeply touched and humbled (on many levels for many reasons) by this write!]

oh yes!
incredible!

"And you?
Do men always measure everything
By the length of their perception?"

as Karilea says
I have chosen this as one of my own visions
